We want your child's first visit to our office in Springfield, Illinois to be enjoyable and positive. It's helpful when your child is prepared beforehand and we highly recommend reading books about the experience and role playing that will happen before coming in. Dr. Sirisha Govindaiah and staff are trained to describe things in a way that is easy for your child to understand. To ensure your child's comfort, we recommend that you avoid telling them about any unpleasant dental treatment you may have heard about or experienced in the past.
During your child's first visit to Springfield Pediatric Dentistry we will:
-Review their medical and dental history
-Perform a complete examination of their teeth and gums
-Take radiographs (if needed)
-Polish the teeth and do a fluoride treatment (depending on age and behavior)
-Answer any questions you may have concerning your child's oral health
Parents are welcome to accompany their child to the treatment area throughout the entire visit.
You can now complete our new patient forms online. If you are unable to do so in advance, please arrive 20 minutes prior to your child's appointment time and have your dental insurance card available for us.
We ask that a parent or legal guardian accompany the child to their first visit. Legal guardians must present a court order verifying they are authorized to consent for the child's dental treatment. Minors not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian cannot be seen without prior, signed authorization.
Your child's first visit is the beginning of a relationship with us at Springfield Pediatric Dentistry, so come join us for an adventure that's lifelong.
